West Coast Swing at Dance Dimensions in Norwalk, CT on January 11, 2018

We had an excellent first West Coast Swing class of 2018. There were thirty dancers for the beginner class, which learned how to do the Sugar Push, Right Side Pass, and Left Side Pass. We had numerous regulars and a handful of newcomers.

Susan Wittmann

Erik Novoa and Susan Wittmann

Before our second class began, we acknowledged Susan Wittmann. She is moving from Connecticut to North Carolina. During the last ten years, Susan has made the most amazing desserts for our dance community, performed in Connecticut Ballet’s production of the Nutcracker, and become close friends with many people within the dance community. She has become proficient in West Coast Swing and Hustle and has been a wonderful representation of our collective spirit. We wish her well on her new adventure and promise not to complain about the lack of pastries (She says, "Let them eat Oreos").

Intermediate West Coast Swing

The Intermediate class explored a simple pattern which created a window of opportunity" for follower creativity. I enjoyed watching leaders and followers work together to find their musical expression and I’m looking forward to continuing the journey.
